Customs to Close Early

The Customs Department will close for business on Friday, 4 June at 2:00 pm and will re-open for normal business on Saturday, 5 June at 8:30 am.
Collector of Customs Carlon Powery said the closure is necessary for the departmentís staff to meet to identify ways of enhancing the service to the public.
The closure does not affect the departmentís operations at both the Owen Roberts International Airport and the seaport office.
Mr. Powery apologized for any inconvenience this may cause.
In addition to the staff meeting, the Customs Sports and Social Club Committee (CSSC) will give a presentation on their work and award some staff members for their commitment, dedication, leadership and team spirit.
The CSSC is a non-profit organization within the department that promotes unity and harmony by organizing social and sporting events. It also encourages staff to reach their full potential through motivation. The CSSC aims to understand the needs and interests of staff, and promotes positive change for the betterment of the department.
