Customs officials are investigating a case in which 400 lbs. of ganja was seized at the Port Container Distribution Centre. The Customs Narcotics Enforcement Team (C/NET) intercepted the container last month, on 1 December. The ganja was found after a Customs K-9 dog alerted his handler to a specific container at the distribution centre compound. C/NET has recently revised its operations, in order to better apprehend smugglers attempting to import or export narcotics, firearms, and other contraband through the Cayman Islands. No arrest has been made at this time.
